I get confused with time differences, but this message could be before or after your first meeting with the lawyer. The others have already said the true and encouraging things. Such a big brave. And most people would find it a stressful thing to do.

I'm so sorry you have given up on the dream job. You can still hang on to the idea of having a shot at a similar post sometime in the future- its not definitely a line of work you will *never* get into. But of course its also important not to dwell on it too much and make yourself miserable.
Lots of luck with the applications. That is also an impressive thing to be managing- I know it takes a fair amount of time and energy.
