AutieMel,

<<< I'm not looking for glory here... I just remember when and why I started saying that (George) Carlin-esque phrase 30 years ago. I took two semesters of "Psychology of the Physically Disabled" courses in the University, and at the end I was commenting (negatively) about people are "re-actors" that don't seem toooo dialed-in to their World around them. I was, as you are, contrasting those dear folks who are paralyzed from the neck down.

<<< Also, I wax-self-deprecating on occasion, and explain away my poor performance by claiming to be, "paralyzed from the neck up!" I also say, "I'm un-hooked at C5!" ...meaning no connection from my body to my brain due to a break at the 5th cervical vertebrae (in the neck), implying my body is viable and my brain is dead!

<<< I still see it as a funny juxtaposition. I in no way want to deminish the impact of your insight... I am cheering you (us both) onward!!!

Rod

PS: I'm soooo delighted you posted that!!!!
