Excuse me? I'm glad I don't live in America! In Canada our employers are not legally entitled to know anything about our doctors and/or current medical situations. I could have cancer, depression, whatever. There is no need for them to know what, only that I'm sick. My doctor is very confidential, even though I'm only a university student.
I hope things work out for you. It just doesn't seem fair. :(
