I finished college when I was 36. But I did it because it was a personal goal of mine. When I graduated I had to take a pay cut to go into my new field.
So, is college what you want for yourself? If it is, you should go for it. If not, then maybe you should find another way to for you to earn your respect. How about volunteering art lessons. Are there any community after school programs for "at risk" teenagers? Now that's a group that needs to learn positive self expression!
