Fashion advice?

For those very very few times I care what other people have to see when they look at me.

I have olive skin that tans if I so much as look at the sun through the window. And dark blonde hair which blends in nicely with my skin to make me invisible.

I can't wear light brown at all because people might walk into me, not knowing I was there.

And I know sunshine yellow makes me look horrendously sallow, although I usually don't care because it makes *me* feel cheerful, and I don't have to look at me in it.

But what about my other favorite colors, fuschia, blush pink, and lavender? Does fuschia really bring out the yellow too? I never noticed. I like the vibrancy of the pink color and like to imagine that it brings out a bit of pink to my skin.

I know better than to wear solids of any color, because now I'm fat I look like a giant grape, or a giant piece of bubblegum, or a giant pink marshmallow chick, or a monk. And I know that I shouldn't wear shorter length shirts that cut me off at the waist. And while I spent my early adult years pretty much in tailored shirtdresses, I had to give that up once my son was born and I turned from a T shape to an apple. :( So mostly I wear A line dresses that flare as much as possible, because I just like the feeling of skirts moving against my legs as I walk.

So when I don't want to make the people around me sadder by seeing me, what should I do differently?
