karen's evil twin

Posted by karen_kay on April 2, 2004, at 19:58:38

so, i told my old man about an incredibly rotten day i had. he had to "put me on hold first" as he had to use the restroom first. i waited and waited and waited, what did he eat for lunch? i talked about barely having the strength to walk to class. i told him that the prof spoke in a language i couldn't understand, yet wasn't alone, as he asked a student to turn off the light and the poor kid closed the door. finally somone whispered to the kid to turn off the blasted light. my old man laughed. i told him i was so overwhelmed with my prof's use of the language that i wanted to laugh or cry, but i didn't. i told him that i somehow found the strength to walk home. i told him i tried to read bukowski, but couldn't understand it. he said he couldn't either. i said, "how could you not?" i told him i then tried to read camus. he said that wasn't a smart leap to take. i told him i cried. i told him i'm getting depressed. he said, "so, are you going to the grocery?" he just left to go drinking with friends. i declined. on his way out, i told him to be careful. i repeated "cancel" twice in my head.
