I know *nothing* of these things (thank heavens) but my husband says he uses a toilet plunger (knowing my husband not one that has ever been in intimate contact with a toilet) with vaseline around the edge (for a tight seal?) on the bathroom sink plugs. He says it takes a couple of times, but eventually works.
But this is pure hearsay.
