Your old man isn't a plumber is he? Or a wannabe? Sorry, but the image you presented cracked me up.
One clarification. Bear does not HAVE a ponytail. Perhaps he WISHES for one. What he does is scrape his hair back and hold it together in the back. Kind of like I do with mine just before I put a ponytail holder in it. Only he does not have enough length to really have a pony tail. It's just a buch of hair clumped together in his hands. I really should pay attention to the dynamics in the room the next time I see him do this.
I have a friend/colleague who also sees Bear who actually reported this mannerism to me. I had never noticed it before, but once my evil twin friend mentioned it, then it stood out like crazy. We love to gossip about him. We wonder sometimes if we went in each others' place if he would even notice. Or if we went together. We both saw him at an event on campus once and our other friend was dying to know what he looked like. We were all three giggling and staring at him from the balcony above like junior high girls. Such fun!
