10 mg is pert-near average lexapro dose.
20mg is like going fulltime ... folks over 30mg are rare ... a lot of folk will start out at 10mg because that's some standard or something, but it's a lot to start with for a lot of folks and plenty of lex users are on between 2.5 amd 7.5 as their effective doseage ...
