Emmy333,
I just discovered this forum, saw your post and felt compelled to respond so you know that other people also suffer from anxiety induced hives.
As long as I can remember, I have had the problem of hives mainly on my feet/legs when something causes me to be very anxious. They go away within hours of calming back down and they never have been in a place where others could see them so I have just lived with it. I understand your struggle and wish I had a great solution to offer but I do not. I have recently started treatment again for anxiety/depression and the Dr. has given me Remeron to try (only 1 week so far). It does seem to help calm me down but is making me very sleepy. I took Effexor years ago with some benefit but not enough to stay on the drug.
I hope you get some relief and understand that there definately are others of us with the problem.Regards,
> i have this horrible anxiety and everytime i get nervous i get an outbreak of red hives all over my chest, arms, and face--it's so bad that now i am constantly worrying about when they will re-appear. it's a daily struggle--i have started up on effexor for the anxiety and i am hoping that it will help keep the hives from coming back for a while. i only know 2 other people who get hives when they are nervous and one of them is my sister. anyone else out there?? i hate hives!!! they are ruining my life and they last for hours at a time!!! it's so bad that i avoid public places now.
