Tabitha goes to a new church

Posted by Tabitha on August 13, 2003, at 23:35:19

(Hi Lou, I couldn't resist stealing your subject line. Welcome back.)

I finally went to a new church I've been wanting to try. The aim is to explore my spirituality and make new social connections. I let myself down a bit. After the service they said there were refreshments off to one side, but most of the crowd just filed straight out to the parking lot... and I followed. I didn't actually talk to anyone except for the little part where they told you to greet your neighbors. I wish I'd pushed myself to talk to SOMEONE just so it would feel less strange being new. There were several other women there alone, it would have been fine to talk to them I'm sure.

The message was nice. Nothing that made me roll my eyes and bolt from the room. But the speaker used quite a bit of bawdy humor. I've never ever heard bawdy humor from a pulpit. It put me off a bit.

Maybe I'll try some other churches or groups.
