I don't know a thing about maois, but I do sort of know how you feel. Actually, re words I just mailed a friend about the same thing. When I let the kettle cook to long I say I can even burn water...kind of shifts the feelings not thinking. Remember, though, this is not inherently you...it's the meds and I bet you and pdoc will find a better mix soon, but be stern with him/her that this is not acceptable for you.
