Did your dr discuss other drugs with you, or just suggest Lexapro?
If you haven't been there, maybe you would want to check out the Psycho-Babble meds group. I want to caution you though, don't get discouraged by all the problems with side effects you hear. People who are doing well with their medication usually aren't posting there :) And it's still very early in your treatment, so you may find that Lexapro is the right drug for you. If it doesn't work, there are many other drugs you can try.
I'm very shy myself, and I don't know what I would do without the internet, voice mail, and phone menus! They do make life somewhat easier.
