Hi Nikki--

It's good to hear that you're feeling better! Remeron sucked for me, too. I gained weight, felt groggy but couldn't sleep well, and was no less depressed on than off of it. Discontinuing Remeron reminded me of the wisdom which came to me when my husband left. To wit: Sometimes, nothing at all is a vast improvement over the wrong something.

Thanks for asking about me. I'm doing fair-to-middlin', I guess. I've lost my pdoc, which doesn't bother me as much as it probably should. I think I've played the "musical meds" tune about as long as I can stand it. I've tried most reasonable alternatives, and the newly introduced meds don't seem to be living up to their advance billings. (But then, how could anything short of immortality be worth $13 per pill?) That leaves supplements and therapy, and I may try both. It has occurred to me that a course of CBT might help me morph "Less is more" from a philosophy to a lifestyle. Certainly, my domicile could use a hefty dose of real life "less".

What's next for you? Therapy, different meds, more champagne? Wish I could drink; champagne has always sounded so romantic to me. The only time I've ever been drunk was in college when I had a plain coke on an empty stomach; I was singing, stumbling and mumbling within 20 minutes. Rotten hangover, too.

Well, time for me to go pretend to sleep so I can chase my grandson around tomorrow. Looking at him, sometimes, I wonder how many adults would be mentally ill if we had (or had had) what he's able to take for granted--unconditional love and undivided attention.

Take care---medlib
