One of my favorite lines from any song ever is this one, from U2's song "Rejoice": "I can't change the world/but I can change the world in me/if I rejoice."
So did you make a difference? Of COURSE you did--to all those you touched and to yourself. And the difference you made to yourself is going to continue to make a difference with each person you touch.
I'm proud of what you did—your courage not just to go to a possibly volatile place but to be exposed to such an emotionally draining experience.
Thanks for making us aware and for your contributions here and in the world.
