I used to do that to my Kitty, just a nibble, and he'd look up surprised, "where did that come from'?
and then go back to the very serious job of paw cleaning.
When I was very sad and bored once I discovered he had a "magic" scratching spot in the middle of his back. If I scratch it he starts licking the air and moving his head from side to side looking very mechanical.
I used to show it to my friends but I think he caught on, and he doesnt' really do it anymore.
