Just jumping in here, in the middle of things. I got the impression you are taking meds, got raped, and you are now pregnant? Not exactly "been there, done that", but close enough, so I think I am qualified to tell you what needs to be done.

Here are the nuts-and-bolts, practical measures you need to take. You have options, but you must act on them. Now. Do not do the "deer frozen in the headlights" so long that you can't exercise them anymore.

YOU MUST GET TESTED FOR ANY AND ALL STDs, if you haven't done so by now. Absolutely, no two ways about it, do not pass go, no excuses.

The rest of this may be too much to process all at once. Just go one paragraph at a time.

1) Have a physician verify the pregnancy. At least get a second test, using a different method. They are not infallible.

2) Do you want to have a baby or not? You don't have to. Get an abortion if you don't want a baby. End of story. Start the process right away. It gets harder the longer you put it off.

3) If you think abortions are Bad, Bad, Bad then don't get one.

4) If you can't decide what you want, talk to your pdoc or someone else (planned parenthood, maybe) to clarify your thinking. *Don't* talk to anyone who has an agenda, hidden or not. I don't know of anyone who thinks having an abortion is good for you, but plenty of people insist it is bad for you.

If there is the remotest chance you are going to have this baby:

1) Find out whether your meds are safe for pregnant women. Someone here might be able to find out.

2) Press charges, if possible. Press charges even if you end the pregnancy. Get someone to help you haul his sorry ass into court. Not only does this a--h--- need to do time, but he has a legal obligation to provide child support, whether he is guilty of rape or not. Proving paternity is supposed to be easy.

3) Figure out how you are going to support yourself and get medical care. (This may not be an issue for you. Maybe you are working and have insurance, or you have a supportive family or are independently wealthy.) Here's where a pro-life group can be helpful, but don't count on it.

4) Decide whether you want to keep the baby or give it up for adoption,. Raising a child is hard work. Especially if you are mentally ill.

Anyone who is not really, really nice to you deserves a slow and painful death.

Keep posting! Keep posting! Ask questions or babble mindlessly. There's got to be a reason why this is called "psychobabble", right?
