LOL, Nikki.
Well, I moved in the past year, into my own place, so I had a honeymoon period for a while, during which is was so nice and clean in here. Now it is a disaster area. When I moved, I got rid of a lot of junk. A lot of the old, unopen mail from my depressed times was just so old there was nothing to do but toss it, anyway. So that helped.
Now, though, I have resumed the terrible habit of dumping stuff on the kitchen table when I come in, so it is piled high with mounds of this and that. Also, I have been getting the daily paper, which is too much--I can't keep up with reading it anyway, and then I just have papers everywhere and on recycling day I scramble to gather it up and put in in paper bags. But there is so much of it that I can't carry it all out on the morning of recylcing, unless I make the time to take two trips, but usually I am rushing to get to work (late). So the newspapers just accumulate all over the place. I am going to cancel the daily and just get the Sunday, I think.
But it isn't just nespapers, although I think once there is one thing cluttering everything, it becomes contagious and I get messy with other stuff, too. Maybe it's time for me to visit flylady.com. I had been receiving her emails but cancelled them because I got overwhelmed because they were way too numerous and I didn't like getting emails trying to sell me things. But maybe I'll just visit the website for some reminders.
I also just started reading "Organizing from the inside out"--we'll see if that helps.
Of course, one thing that would help is getting off this darn computer for a little while!
