I just finished David Sedaris' "Me Talk Pretty One Day." Like him? Funny book. I also read that detective book by Janet SomethingRussian, "Hard Eight," and I read a bunch of old stuff on my bookshelf, and I am now reading "Odd Girl Out" about girls' aggression, as well as a Jane Hamilton book I found on my bookshelf.
And there's a lot of music to hear right now, too. So put on your Righteous Babe "Car Tires and Chicken Wire" baseball cap (what?! you don't HAVE one?!), and go out for your four-mile race walk. It's 6:40, and that's where I'm headed.
The fourteen-year-old with the gun that held me up in the park a few weeks ago was just charged with a second robbery (it happened before mine). Unfortunately, the victims of the other five robberies can't identify him from photos (all were 90% sure, not 100%), so he is on home detention. The thought that he's at home and not in juvenile detention really scares me, but I can't do anything about it. My life is too precious.
