Yes, I know it acts *as* a neurotransmitter among other regulatory features of it. One doctor when I first was put on it wanted to keep me at 50 mcg but I felt no difference. He was persuaded by me to raise it to 75 mcg but I only noticed a small improvement. This doctor's happy to keep me at 100 mcg on which I function nicely. Many regular doctors are so afraid to have their patients' TSH readings get below 3 or 4, but many people don't feel good till it reads near 1.
