It's from Don McLean's American Pie that came out, oh, 71-72. Other songs: The Day the Music Died-"drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry...another line..the three men I admire most the father, son, and holy ghost. They took the last train to the coast, the day the music died. Think it's about Richie V, Big Bopper, etc.
It was a highly acclaimed album,it is great.
I think he may be more known on the country circuit now but may be wrong. Maybe he's in Branson. 'Vincent' is worth the price of the CD by itself but all songs were intelligent and good.
