first, Manda, school is tough, but if you've been able to do it before you can do it again (take this from a well-seasoned I-am-going-crazy-and-going-to-fail-everything-but-I-finished-grad-school person).

Second, It seems that many people here have had the same experience I have with psychiatrists... there does not seem to be another profession out there that is nearly as unethical as this group. The moment they decide they no longer want to deal with you, they drop you without notice and often, leave people on high dosages of medications which, if not continued properly, can be dangerous, if not, lethal. Furthermore, getting appointments with these morons is extremely difficult -- a two to three week wait is expected, and usually longer. People say things about lawyers or chiropractors being unethical, but psychiatrists almost act above the law with very little consequences. Then they complain about the fact that there is no parity for mental health. Well, if they stopped abusing the system with people who are not in need of the services, then there would be no problems for those of us who desperately need them! How often does an oncologist say that they refuse to treat a cancer patient because they are not responding to treatment? Never. When I told my internist that I needed psych prescriptions and I explained the situation, he was floored. But psychiatrists are in a different class. (Psychologists, social workers, and other mental health professionals are not immune to this problem - they are all guilty of this). I would be curious as to the number of people just on this list that have had a mental health professional just drop them. I know I count as one.
