forgive me if i'm interpretting this incorrectly, but if i understand your question, it is why doesn't your dr. say "why does this happen"? "What is the sense of it"? so to speak.
you have described yourself as a survivor and it certainly seems you are. that doesn't mean you are in any less pain than those who can't stick it out, it means you have chosen life over death.
suicide makes perfect sense to me, which is probably why my husband gets so frightened. when the pain/desperation outweighs the will to live...
it seems to me you like the fight to some extent, or at least have grown used to it. some of us don't.
again, please just excuse this if i got it totally wrong.
