Lucky happenstance I'd say, if you were really crossing the line. But I have a hard time believing that. You seem far too clever to have to resort to incivility. :)
It's clear to me that Dr. Bob doesn't have any automatic screening program.
If you cross the line, you usually get a cleverly worded "Please be civil". If you cross it again you get banned for a week or two. Skirting it is tricky. It requires more subjectivity on Dr. Bob's part. But he usually does a good job.
I would say that most people who get blocked have a fairly good idea what was going to happen and have blocked themselves in effect.
But I for one, am constantly quaking in fear of a "Please Be Civil" reminder. It's like being threatened with a mark on my Permanent Record or something. :)
