Child psychology- mair, judy1, anyone else?

The child psychologist I spoke to didn't hold out much hope for behavior modifications on biologically based behaviors and seemed to feel that medications were the only answer. This has led me to feel rather uncomfortable with him. It seems that there must be another possible solution. What was your experience?
Mair, you say that CBT alone was sufficient? How does CBT differ from behavior modification in young children? He didn't mention CBT at all, just behavior modification.
