> it is: "Terry" by George McGovern.I read that in a class on psychiatry and the law. It was pretty chilling. I'd heard stories from a lot of people about things that happened to them as a result of their addictions; Terry is an especially well-written account.
It's a good book for anybody to read...perhaps especially for those who think addicts aren't deserving of compassion.
