Middle Ground...

Posted by jay on October 6, 2001, at 0:08:00

Ever notice how much we are trying to balance our emotions. Not feeling TOO nervous; TOO tired; TOO grumpy/agitated; TOO excited (especially in bipolar); TOO MUCH EVERYTHING!

It all seems about balance...but I find when I don't feel *anything*, I feel numb...and I hate that...and I know others do too!

It's like this crazy balancing act...and my sence of balance sucks!..heh. I use Effexor to ease off the fatigue, but TOO much Effexor (and that often changes...and is still hard to determine daily.) and I am really agitated and pissed off. But, one other thing I find, is the Effexor *stops* my dreaming, and I am happy for that, because I usually get that light-sleep type dreaming.

Using meds to "balance" out the mood...HA! The 'mood stabalizers' just make me feel like crap, period. Benzo's can help, but are FAR from an answer.

So, how the heck do we try and balance it out *on top* of the meds? I am into group and personal therapy, but I honestly wish I had a "therapist in a pocket", someone I can have there any time of the day, to pull out and help me when I am nervous, or agitated, or depressed.

Yes...I am just ranting. You know, one other thing, I wish we could just have a few off when we need it. :-) Especially us with chronic mental health problems....man it would be so nice to have a safe, peaceful, enchanted haven. The world is getting so friggen crazy, people want war, war, war, war, all this tough talk. Dammit, what the heck is wrong with wanting peace??? Maybe we need a revolution like in the 1960's again. (I wasn't born at the time...I am only 31...but hey..:-)

Anybody care to join my "Mental Health Peace Corps"?:-)

Peace (of course)

James :-)
