I'm sure the hard data exists, though I have not directly researched it. I was refering to a CBS News story Dan Rather had, I think either late last week, or early this week. Basically, when the Soviets were over-taking Afghanistan in the late 1980's Bin Laden was one of the backers of the Afghan resistance force. We supplied money and weapons to them. Kinda like the Iran-Contra deal at about the same time.
