i just wonder why borderline sales predominate so noticeably over the other what, 6 or 7 personality disorders? i can understand why an avoidant personality wouldn't want to buy an avoidancy book, or how an antisocial couldn't believe (s)he fit that description (it's contrary to the disorder)--but...volumes upon volume of mass market paperbacks! it blows my mind.

my former psychoanalyst had the theory that personality disorder precedes depression...what she was saying,in effect, was that personality disorders are as common as depression and *cause* depression.

what to make of this? i don't know. curious what others think.
