D,
as you know I am another self diagnosed BPII thnks to the NHS. my next pdoc apointment sept! and this following a suicide attempt!! (just to give the us an example of uk care, NHS good as free therefore ethicly better for MH issues as poor tend to be more in need).
anyways. My experiance with SSRI's has been bad, I have always felt my crazyest on them. Its a cycle
1st-therapy, good but no bannanas
2nd-try drugs 2 help therapy
3rd-Great, bad, gbgbgbgbgbgbgbg arrrh
4th-something suicidal
5th-manic what the hell do I need therapy 4?
if I do this, TTTTTTT then everything fine!
6th-faliure, return to 1st command line.

desided 2 Ban(nanas)SSRI's this time (also on FXR) demanded Depakote (UK epilim). started 600 mg day. 3 weeks later. now depressed, cycling once every 3 days or so (as opposed to hours, sometimes). Overall, betterish. think more Epilim will help. more like pebble in stream than rock falling off cliff (still immobile).
I dont want to overly push this case, we are all v.different. but reseach I have read suggests SSRI;s bad with BPII. personaly they are probably right- so far.
bannanas
