About the purpose of life:
Life is a lesson. One of many. Lesson about love, compassion, respect for Nature and above all the omnipresent universal law of cause and effect.
No matter how much misinformed we are, how limited is our comprehension, how ridiculous are our beliefs and actions, nothing can change the truth and the order established in the Universe.Our current (or future) life becomes harder when we do not want to learn and understand the law of cause and effect. Everything in the Universe has a reason. Einstein used to express it in his famous statement that "God doesn't play dice". Uncertainty principles are nothing more that a cover up for the lack of knowledge. There is much more that we don't know that we want to admit. And we will never learn if decide that we do not want to learn. We seem to doubt everything and everyone, except our own ignorance.
We live more than one life, each one in a different physical body, and sometimes even on a different planet in the Universe.
The most important, eternal part of us, is our consciousness, embedded in so-called astral body, an electronic mass containing about 4e21 (4,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) electrons. (see the Reference).
Experiment to see your own astral body : Make both your index fingers nearly touching each other, preferably in font of a dark, matt background. Black background is OK. Look between fingers and around them and note, that the background close to your fingers is brighter. A bluish transparent and slightly shining aura responsible for this is actually a part of your astral electronic body. By joining your hands you close an electronic circuit, making the astral body more visible. The shape of your electronic astral body follows closely your physical body. Some people have their astral body quite strong and shiny, extending 10 mm or more beyond their physical body. Typically, 2-4 mm is considered average for a healthy person on Earth.

Our physicists are in the process of discovering, that electrons in our astral body have tremendous intelligence as well as memory capacity, and they in fact control all functions of our mind and body, including all healing processes. This astral body is actually true "us". Emerging research evidence suggests that the organization of our consciousness is holographic.
Using a computer jargon, our physical body is the hardware, equipped with sensors, transmitters, receivers and actuators, and the electronic astral body contains the software, memory, data storage as well as the consciousness and the free will of the operator, deciding what to do.
Our physical bodies are imperfect, simply because we have not yet developed our consciousness to build and control them any better. The ultimate goal is to be able to consciously control activity of every cell in our body and in particular to regenerate them at will. At this stage we will be forever young and it will be up to us when and how we want to change our physical bodies. Imagine the joy and the fun we can have then. This is not a dream. This is reality.
On the next, higher level of consciousness, our astral body is connected to much more powerful and intelligent "higher consciousness" or "higher self", which receives all our sensations and stores our knowledge accumulated from lifetime to lifetime. This connection is well documented by our medical science. It is a very noisy "tunnel" connecting to an extremely bright light (the "higher self"). When we die, our astral body ( which is "true us") passes through it and we achieve a complete bliss and understanding of everything when we reach the bright light. This bright light is the gateway to the nucleus of our "higher self". Many people who experienced a "clinical death" report this connection in great detail. The experience is so profound, complete and overwhelming and so different than our daily life, that we forget most of it when we go back, just like we forget our dreams.
The light of the "higher self" and the sound of the tunnel leading to it are referred in many ancient spiritual scriptures as "the Light and the Sound of Creation". Our best physicists agree that everything in the Universe is just a vibration.
The aim of many meditation and yoga practices is to reach the light and the bliss (nirvana, samadhi etc..) consciously when alive. When you can reach such state of "higher consciousness" several times during your lifetime, even for a few seconds, you become "enlightened" or "connected". You start to understand things you have never been able to grasp.
Frequently your past lifestyle would not appeal to you anymore after you directly contacted your higher self. Following other people's habits, rituals, lifestyles and cultivating attachments to material things do not make sense anymore.
Initially it is quite hard to express what is that you have understood during the connection with your "higher self", simply because our language is very limited and is constantly being misused. Messages from your "higher self" are high speed direct mind to mind transmissions in the universal telepathic language of the Universe. You don't need to learn this language. You know it. You just need to learn how to connect, how to handle transmissions and store the information, so you can use it in your everyday life. It is a duty of every civilized being to develop and maintain this connection. In my opinion this is the first thing we should teach our children to do in schools.
Our planet is on the very bottom of civilized evolution and regressing. We think that we are "civilized" but this statement is only the evidence of our ignorance.
In our so called "civilization" any significant invention is turned into a weapon first. Violence, crime and wars never stop. In our "civilized" society a murderer gets more publicity than a head of state, scientist, inventor, a great artist or a writer. Media choose to propagate fear, sensation and confusion. (Did you notice how miserable you feel after listening to the news ?). It seems that someone on this planet is very much interested to keep us confused and misinformed, because in such state it is very easy to manipulate our behaviour. Most of people become slaves of the money and monetary system, spending all their lives paying the interest. In our "civilization" making "money" takes precedence over health and the environment. Our "civilized" activity inevitably leads to the total destruction of the planet. We have to learn the hard way. But one of the conditions of learning is not to follow leaders who do not know themselves what they do and why. We should wake up our connections with our own higher selves and figure out for ourselves what is that we should learn and understand. There are plenty of good lessons before our eyes.
We have a free will and we should use it consciously. This free will is actually our most precious gift and we should never submit it to anyone for anything. It is our best learning tool. Michel Desmarquet summarized this in a short statement : " the freedom of choice is sacred".
We can be "good" students and really learn a lot while here on Earth. We can also help others. Or we can ignore lessons, following everyone else like a sheep who follow the flock. Guess what is better for our future existence.
In my opinion, whatever we do we should make the most of it. But, everyone has a choice. For example, some of us are happy with a secondary school education. Others aim for university degrees. Few aim for PhD and doctorates. Exceptional people aim to expand the knowledge and advance the civilization. Very few of them succeed to achieve significant advancement for the entire planet. Guess who has the most of fun and makes faster progress in the school of life.
Limiting our awareness to the physical body, materialistic knowledge and cultivating attachments to material things, is like aiming to stay at the primary school level for the entire lifetime. Alexander The Great during his life conquered the entire world, seemingly achieving the ultimate success. Shortly before he died, he called his friends and relatives to say: "I cannot take anything which I have achieved to where I am going now". In this statement, he admitted that he had wasted his entire lifetime, and did not make any progress in the school of life. Perhaps the last thought of his life, quoted above, was his only step forward. Most likely in his next lifetime it would be him, who would be conquered against his will. This is how the law of cause and effect works. What you saw, so shall you reap. What you do to others is what you will receive yourself.
Technology and material knowledge should assist in the individual spiritual development, and not be used to control people in the cage of material world, which is temporary anyway.
Our true "self", the astral body, is eternal . It never dies. It exists and will exist as long as the Universe will exist. We have all the time in the world, eternity in fact, to learn and to progress. We can learn slow or fast, or not learn at all, it is our free will, as always.
In my opinion, once we are at school we should not aim to repeat grades. On the contrary, given the opportunity to learn several grades simultaneously, we should aim for the best possible outcome, whatever it turns out to be. From my experience, the more conscious and aware we are, the better communication with our own higher selves we achieve, not only we progress faster, but also we have more fun, despite of many difficulties we encounter in our lives.
There are only two things which can severely damage and regress development of our eternally existing astral body and distort the information stored in our "higher self" : drugs and a loud or prolonged noise.
Drugs alter the sensations sent to our "higher self", garbaging it with false information. It takes many lifetimes to get the information straight again.
High intensity (discos !!), or prolonged annoying noise (such as traffic) distorts the connection ("noisy tunnel") with the "higher self". As a result the "higher self" receives a distorted information, which again may take many lifetimes to correct.
Note, that the suicide is the evidence that you do not understand the purpose and lessons in your life and therefore is a step backwards. If this is what you choose, the next lesson (your next life) will be harder.

There are many wonderful books on this subject. My favourite is The Book by Michel Desmarquet, ISBN 0 646 15996 8. There have been 3 editions of this book since it was first published in 1993 one in Australia, two in the USA.
In my opinion this is one of the most important books in the last 2000 years of our "civilization", because the extraordinary information and invaluable advice it contains has been provided by people from the planet Thiaoouba, who are billions of years ahead of us in conscious and technological evolution. They have been trying to help us on Earth for thousands of years, but they won't do our homework for us. All we have been capable of doing in return was to ridicule or even murder the messengers they selected and to distort their teachings. One of the things we do best on Earth is to doubt everything and everybody, except of our own ignorance.
