That is a beautifully written piece. I am a firm believer in karma. In my younger days, I really felt karma was punishment. Do something good and you are rewarded. Do something bad and you get something bad in return, in punishment for your bad deeds. Problem with that kind of logic is that you aren't always tangibly "rewarded" by a good deed. And if you fear getting something bad in return and you keep doing good to avoid that, you become more and more frustrated that you're not getting rewarded. Pressure builds, life sucks. I think the key here is doing good out of fear.

As I learn and grow, I am beginning to realize that as long as we try to keep our intents pure, we never get "punished" for doing "bad" things. It's just that, as in the above post, whatever it is that we believe ourselves to be, we get that reflected back at us, as in an echo. We may not see it right away, but everything we send out has a way of finding its way back to us to challenge us as we grow. I think that's what karma is all about. If you feel guilty, even for something you shouldn't be guilty for, the world will take that guilt and run with it, making you feel even more guilty. Or a more positive example, if you feel that you are a capable, responsible person and present yourself as such, the world will view you as being capable and responsible. However, if deep down inside you still feel irresponsible, it will show and sure as rain, people will view you that way, no matter how hard you try to convince them otherwise.

You always get what you feel you deserve. I think we all just need to believe in ourselves as much as we can, and to love ourselves in all of our imperfections. Easier said than done, but it's definitely doable. Peace and love.
