I'm glad that you decided to go ahead with it. One component of it which hasn't been mentioned is that in addition to eye movement (or alternating sound or vibration), EMDR also uses cognitive structuring
before the processing. So you also get the opportunity to process your issues cognitively as well as through right brain/left brain processing.
