Everyone may have his or her own opinion about this, but I personally don't think nail biting is a symptom of OCD as it is a symptom of anxiety, and in the extreme, perhaps general anxiety disorder or social anxiety. I, too, have been a long-time nail biter, and at their worst, I would have put my nails up against yours any time. However, on anti-anxiety medication, I don't bite, pick, or chew at them nearly as often. I even enjoy getting a manicure these days.
