I just don't understand!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by fleeting flutterby on May 19, 2008, at 11:05:26

I've tried and tried and still don't get it. My mother in-law rags and rags on my father in-law. She criticizes EVERYTHING he does, she is always complaining and has a very sour expression most times. BUT-- her son(my husband) walks on water! How can this be?? The son and the father are so so much alike! How can everything her son does is perfect and I am the luckiest woman on the planet (to be neglected, he lived 450 miles away for 15 months while our boys were little, he throws things in anger- has broken many things and also injured me from flying objects, and he has a drinking problem)......

Just got back from a short trip with the in-laws and I feel numb..... think I've lost my mind. :o(
was such a streesful trip with the mother in-law yelling all the time..... I'm a very quiet person with little emotion.... just from being around her for 5 days I feel I'm in emotional OVERLOAD. and every time I tried to calm her by saying my husband(her son) is the same-- she would defend her son... WTF! how can it be OK with the son but deserves yelling at with the father??!! I really don't get it...... should I have not tried to make her feel better by showing how the son is the same?? I think she is mad at me now..... it's like she's the only one that can have a problem with a husband....... argh!! I'm feeling unheard and confused..........
hope you all don't mind my vent........
