Honestly, if he has to be convinced to hang around, why would you want him to do so?
He either loves you enough to stay and deal or he doesn't...
Yes, begging and guilting him into staying around a little longer could be done, but if he's not 1000% committed right now when you need him the very most, this very minute, set him free.
Allow yourself the freedom to find the one who will stay with you and love you no matter what. You deserve that in a relationship!
