I don't know if this is helpful, but something that I've recently learned about myself is that I tend to get angry (sometimes extremely angry) at different people, although lately it's been my therapist, because I am avoiding feeling other, more prominent feelings. For example, I might get upset/angry at my therapist for something she said, when really I am feeling disappointed or hurt or whatever other feeling. I think anger is a often a go to feeling--meaning that some people automatically feel the anger instead of feeling another different and often uncomfortable feeling.
