yes, that would upset me.
I too struggle with the fact that people do not understand, are not kind, are inconsiderate. I often want everyone to like me.
try to remember who you know you are, and what you know your intentions are. It sounds a bit like your interactions with these folks are a losing battle. Of course, it would be good if it were not so.

Some people..there's just no way to interact with them in a positive way, I try not to care if they don't like me. Sometimes the best thing to do is minimize contact.

My therapist might say, you don't want everyone to like you. Your friends say something about who you are, and so do the people who don't like you...what I mean there is your friends may be reflective of your values, of your character, and if others differ from that, then it may be just as well, because that's about them, and you can choose not to relate with them because of who they are, and because they are not the type of people who reflect your values.

So again, your friends say something about you, and so do your non-friends, and that's a good thing.
