thanks for your kind replies. i was embarassed to even mention what i did on here, i guess because i feel guilty that i enjoy it - and therefore that i'm some kind of fraud/imitation cutter, who trivializes the problem of 'real' cutters. BayLeaf, i imagine there is some OCD (which i have) component to it, because i was very careful afterwards, and equally enjoyed the ritual of sanitizing and bandaging myself. you're right, i think it could grow addictive fast, and i do struggle with addictive impulses. i'll be sure to tell my therapist.
