It seems to me that this is about believing that your pdoc is the one who can save you by erraticating the "cancer" - which are the parts of you that have died (lost a baby) and are now causing pain. Having to wait for her schedule to open up seems to fit with what you are going through now.
The dream feels hopeful in some ways - but also extreme too - like you can't go back to your life until this happens. As you try and rework the dream, can you see that there are other alternatives than going home?
I'd write this one down. There are lots of elements to think about. No wonder it has stayed with you.
