It's okay to change your mind. I don't think you should call her if it upsets you, but if you cannot go to your next session without some contact, I thought you might be able to leave a voice mail. Leaving a voice mail (for me) sometimes let me express something I need to get off my back before the next session. Bummer that she has a secretary.

People are flexible. Going back on your "promise" is human and perfectly okay. Faxing gives you that same sort of "dumping" that voice mail gives me. You can write how you are feeling.

"I'm still really angry. And I know I need to talk about this during our session. Something gets in the way. Maybe you can help me understand why it's so hard for me to talk." Which ... I struggle with from time to time even though I have been with my therapist for FIVE years and see her 2 - 3 times a week. Therapy isn't easy!! Even for regulars.
