I can imagine what a shock that must have been. I would have felt somewhat invaded too - kind of like being "outed" against my own wishes or publicly.
I think that no matter how much work we do on these issues, there is a tiny part of us that wishes and wishes that it was all a bad dream, that we are wrong, that none of it ever happened. (And yes, this sits along side the part that is terrified that no one will EVER believe her.) Evidence is a double-edge sword.
I hope you have support to help you recover from the surgery and you can be gentle with yourself for a while. These wounds hurt so much when they get opened again.
