Muffled, it usually isn't a good idea to make decisions while you're sick, or while you're angry. Angry and sick make a very bad combination.

I got into the habit of asking my therapist at the beginning of each session if there was anything he needed to tell me. At first I even followed up more. "Are you sure there are no upcoming vacations or work trips? You aren't retiring anytime soon? etc."

Over time he's gotten so conditioned to remember that he even tells me stuff I don't need to know. Like "I'm going away overnight on Wednesday but it won't affect any of your sessions."

It's a shame that she isn't there as consistently as you need. And even more of a shame that she doesn't remember to tell you.

But just recently you were saying how helpful she's been to you. And it's not unusual for you to acknowledge her helpfulness sometimes and want to quit other times.

To honor those parts of you who find it helpful, mightn't it be better to tell her how upset you are that she didn't warn you, express your distress at not seeing her for so long, and give yourself time to think about what to do long term.

Concentrate on getting better for now. I've missed you.
