I like your Freudian slip, I wish I could put in ear plugs when the phone rings.

I got the purple ones and so far they aren't irritating (sensitive to touch, too) and do seem to block out ambiant noise. The true test will be the guy who falls asleep in the quiet room of the library and snores. I may need headphones and earplugs for him.

I'll check out the Peltor earmuffs. There are alot of hunting supply places around where I am so I shouldn't have trouble finding them. I like that they are less obtrusive looking. They might be good for public places where I really can't take the noise: shopping malls, fast food places, etc.
