Tummy rumbling

Posted by Wittgenstein on November 18, 2007, at 10:43:23

It's gone a bit quiet on the board this weekend... so here's a silly question to hopefully get some light responses...

What happens when your tummy starts to rumble/gurgle in session? You're starving and it's the only thing you can think about. Does this ever happen to you?

Well, it happened to me last Friday. I couldn't sleep on Thursday night and when I finally did, I ended up oversleeping... so rushed to t without having a chance to catch some breakfast/tea. By the time I got there my tummy was rumbling furiously, so I admitted I hadn't eaten breakfast - I felt quite faint and couldn't think of anything but food!! So, to my surprise my t said "shall I get you an apple?... Freud did the same with his patients you know" - I reluctantly accepted the offer and off he went and got an apple from his kitchen. Well, the session ended up being productive although I felt a bit self-conscious crunching on an apple in front of him.

Has anything like this ever happened to you?

Hope you're all having a good weekend - I've been in the garden attacking the overgrown ivy and am preparing for the arrival of a puppy labradoodle :) :)
