I am much older than you are and suffer from Major Depressive Disorder. So, there are some differences right upfront. I underwent 7 ECT treaments in March 2007. I was supposed to do more but quit the treatments due to significant problems that developed in terms of confusion, disorientation, short term memory, and concentration and attention along with the expected problems with long-term memory. I did right unilateral (RUL)twice per week at 5 times the seizure threshold level with the first five inpatient, and the last two outpatient. I have continued to have holes in my long term memory going back to around the early 90's, and I continue to have problems with short term memory, though this has improved some. I am on medication now for depression, and this helps. So, my experience was not so wonderful
