Trust is one of those things, like love and forgiveness, that cannot be made to happen.

Do you think it is (at least partly) about learning to get in touch with those parts of ourselves not under our control?
We live in a fairly wilful world.

And therapy, IME, was often about dealing (successfully or not) with wilfulness.
I am also implying that psychodynamic therapy can become obsessed with it.
