The new director accepted the position today.
I got to meet him on Monday night when the staff was allowed to interview him. He does seem very nice, and intelligent, and knowledgable. I think he'll do a good job. I think he will fit in with the current staff.
My real reaction to this is relief. Now I don't have to do it all. It was a real push for me to handle all of the job. He doesn't come until Oct 17, so I still have time to do the things I want to do before he gets here. I'm also glad that the decision has been made. Now I can move on with what I need to do.
I talked to Vocational Rehab on Monday, and he is going to try to see if he can get me some money to help with the cost of school. I will have plenty to keep me busy. It really is OK.
Just thought you would all like to know.
Thanks for your support during this. It has been a hard time. I did get lots of support from the rest of the staff, as well as patrons, and some of the Friends of the Library and library volunteers. I do feel loved. And that really is what counts.
