Generally you pay at the end of every session.

If you have insurance, you may just need to pay the co-pay at the end of the session. Depends on who submits the insurance claim (you or the therapist) and how your particular therapist does it.

My experience is that they generally do NOT bill after the fact. You are expected to pay that day.

Handing the check (which I made out in the waiting room before the appointment) to my therapist at the end of the session gives me a way to say thankyou, and to even things up a bit (because they have just spent the whole session on your issues, it feels better to give something back to them).
