I think it has more to do with your recital. You said he came last year...and it meant so much to you.
Good luck, I'm sure you will be great. And I'm sure the dreams will stop after. You could also finish the dream before you go to sleep, see him talking to you, being kind, being happy to see you. It is OK to "manipulate" things a bit.
